How to make someone feel good?

If it is obvious someone is trying to make you feel good, how do you make them feel appreciated and loved in return?
"Terms of endearment"?
For men - 'Hello big boy, tarzan, etc.'
For women - 'Sweetie, darling, sugarplum, etc.'
Any other terms to add to the collection so I can use them as and when deemed necessary?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Some people prefer terms for endearment to demonstrate their affection, but others wouldn't. Here are terms which you may add to your collection:
1. Sweetie Pie or Sweetie (variation for Sweetheart)
2. Love or Loves
3. Babes or Baby
4. Peanut
5. Bro/Brad or Sis (as in sibling)
6. Beauty (even if she's not)
7. Dear
8. Darl ( for Darling)
9. Ni or Hon (short for Honey)
10. Heart (short for Sweetheart)
11. Prince or Princess

I think this is going to vary from person to person. Some people resent pet names and others enjoy pet names. Terms of endearment are very personal, many couples or family members create or develop pet names as their relationship ages. I think the main objective is to be kind, considerate, respectful, and genuine in response to the other person.

In our family we have the following nicknames/ pet names which are used affectionately:
Dumpling, KnottyHead, Princess, LooLoo, Lassie, Sweet Britches, Sassy, Kitten, & Pumpkin, PootNanny (to name a few).

it would be nice if we knew these people get used to being friendly, keeping the attitude that he was not offended, accompanied if he wanted to transfer, share and maintain feelings.

Well I think I was looking for something more specific, like the use of terms of endearment to make someone feel good, something like 'tiger' (man) 'honeybunch' (woman) etc... Thanks anyway
