Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Green tea leaves are harvested first and foremost. Then, the green tea is properly drank with no additives. For the connaiseur, there is a proper method for preparing the tea and correct ingredient proportions.

This is two separate questions...how is green tea produced? And how do you prepare a cup of green tea once you have the tea leaves or a tea bag?

Green tea is produced by heating the leaves, usually by steaming or pan-firing, after they have been gathered and rolled into a certain shape. The heating stops the oxidation process that would normally turn them into black tea. You can read more about this here:

How do you prepare green tea? First, I would advise you to buy high-quality loose-leaf green tea; it's so much better than tea bags. Second, heat water to boiling, but let it cool down for about a minute (to about 160-180F or 71-82C) before pouring it into the tea pot or mug in which you are steeping the tea. If you use loose tea, you can use a tea filter like a basket infuser, or a strainer, to separate the leaves out. Steep the tea for a few minutes, depending on the tea and taste. 3 minutes is a good rule of thumb; if it is too strong, try a shorter time next time, and if it's too weak, try longer. Here are some more tips on brewing tea:
