How do you prepare green tea? First, I would advise you to buy high-quality loose-leaf green tea; it's so much better than tea bags. Second, heat water to boiling, but let it cool down for about a minute (to about 160-180F or 71-82C) before pouring it into the tea pot or mug in which you are steeping the tea. If you use loose tea, you can use a tea filter like a basket infuser, or a strainer, to separate the leaves out. Steep the tea for a few minutes, depending on the tea and taste. 3 minutes is a good rule of thumb; if it is too strong, try a shorter time next time, and if it's too weak, try longer.
