how to make cheap international calls to Philippines?

from Japan
Tip for best answer: M$0.10
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You can make cheap landline international calls to the Philippines if you use call-through companies.
These are the steps:

1. You will find a low cost access number for the Philippines landline destination and dial it.
2. After hearing the prompt, dial the international phone number starting with "00" and destination number which is your international destination telephnone number.
3. The international call's low rate will then appear and be charged to your current bill.

There are a lot of ways to call Philippines and need not be expensive. The real question is, how do you intend to call much. Everyday? Only once? Do you need unlimited service or just 10 minutes a day is enough? For most of us, just to hear our love ones for a few minutes a day is enough so I don't think unlimited service is for everyone. This is the reason I don't subscribe to unlimited service albeit I use Onesuite long distance service.

Their rates to the Philippines are competitive and the service is prepaid so I don't get huge bills. Been using it for years and I am very much satisfied.
