How to make a GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS (e.g., BT-338) talk to an iPhone?

I have access to a GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS unit (model BT-338) and it's not clear if my iPhone can recognize the device and log the coordinates broadcast by the GPS unit. Are there utilities out there that will allow these two devices to communicate?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Thank you for the pointer, but I don't find the reference to be a definitive answer. It's still not clear to me if it's possible to establish a data connection from a GlabalSat BT-338 GPS unit and an iPhone. So this isn't a best or tippable answer.
