Ok so i found the secrets of frontierville facebook page (recommended) and someone was asking that same question.

Here's what I found for answers:
-They come back every so often you may need to wait quite a bit of hours I usually get some thorns every 24 hours about 3-5 thorns.
-You want them to grow back? those I would get rid of so snakes dont come back, I rather have bears, more everything! you can buy thorns for horseshoes
-go to market and click on special, they are for sale
-clear the upper right corner of your homestead and wait a couple of hours for them to grow.
