To get sunless tanner off your hands, try lemon juice. Soak your hands in pure lemon juice for 2 minutes then wash with soap.

Bath & Body Works sells a remover for sunless tanners.

You can also try scrubbing your hands with hydrogen peroxide or vinegar & baking soda.

I have tried all suggestions here, but can't seem to get it off. I won't give the money out until I see no tan on hands.

Even if you do nothing, a sunless tan will go away on its own in just a couple of days. You may feel an urge to scrub your skin until it's raw, but don't.It's healthiest for your skin to allow the sunless tan to slough off naturally. It's just your outermost layer of skin that is "tanned," and this layer sheds thousands of particles a second without your assistance.

For
Hands and feet
If it is just the palms of your hands or the soles of your feet that are a problem, you have a friend: body hair bleach. Mix it up and apply to the stained areas. Leave on for ten minutes, then wash off.

Another alternative:products such as Orange Goop, used by car mechanics to get stains off hands, will remove orange stains from sunless tanners. Use only on your hands — products like this are not recommended for use on large areas of the body. They are most effective on callused areas, such as hands and feet.

Whatever you use:Do not attempt to use multiple products to remove a sunless tanner from your skin, or your skin is going to get extremely irritated.

For Fingernails and toenails, a tip from Catherine Zeta Jones Douglas, or whatever her name is these days: denture cleaner gets your nails white. Soak those orange fingertips in Polident. This is a little difficult to do with toes, which are hard to get into a glass. Body hair bleach works well on stained toenails and cuticles.

You are orange right now, but so what? If this is the worst thing that has ever happened to you, count yourself lucky.

If someone gives you a funny look, say with a straight face, "Sunless tanning accident." Say it as soberly as you would announce measles or a broken ankle, and you'll get a laugh every time.

I represent a sun tan salon company and there is really only one product that will work. The chemicals in sunless tanner are such that you need to have a chemical neutralizer. Go to www.australiangold.com. Look at their product: "Bronze Effects Corrector"-- it is an easy-to-use towelette that will actually work. This is a simple answer, but I hope that you find it the most helpful.

Put a nice blob of baking soda on a washcloth and gently rub it on damp skin. The baking soda exfoliates the skin, speeding up the loss of tanner

Like many people in search of the perfect glow, you’ve decided on a safer way than exposing yourself to the harmful rays of the sun and applied sunless tanner. Unfortunately, the perfectly bronzed body effect has been marred by self-tanning streaks. This happens to nearly everyone who uses a sunless tanner at some point. Luckily, sunless tanner is a temporary dye that usually lasts less than a week. If you need to get rid of the tanning blotches or streaks immediately, you do have alternatives.

Things You’ll Need:
* Exfoliating cloth or loofah
* Rubbing alcohol
* Lemon juice
* Baking soda
* Cotton balls

Step1
Exfoliate the streaked area with warm water and an exfoliating cloth or loofah sponge. This will help your body with its natural skin renewal routine by sloughing off dry, dead skin, and revealing the healthier, and hopefully less streaked, skin underneath.
Step2
Apply moistened baking soda to a washcloth, and gently rub it on the offending streaks in a circular motion. Baking soda is a handy cleaning aid with many household uses. It’s safe enough to use as an exfoliating rub and stain remover on your skin if you used gently. Avoid using baking soda on your face, as it can be too harsh for delicate areas.
Step3
Dip a clean cotton ball into rubbing alcohol, and swipe it across your sunless tanner streaks. This method works best the faster you get to the streaks after they form. Alcohol can be drying, so use sparingly, and keep it away from delicate eye areas.
Step4
Use lemon juice for a natural way to remove self-tanning streaks. Gently rub a cotton ball soaked in lemon juice over the area. For larger areas, you can cut a lemon in half and rub it directly on the stain. Lemons have citric acid for exfoliating. The bleaching properties of lemon juice have been used for centuries on skin and hair.
Step5
Use a commercial sunless tanning remover. Many companies that create self-tanners now offer sunless tanner remover as a fast and efficient way to remove streaks, dark spots, stains on the hands or the entire tan.

For sunless tanner stained hands, knees, elbows or feet:
* Try some Orange Goop. It’s a solvent car mechanics use to get grease off their hands (luckily, my hubby used to work on trucks and had some stashed in the garage!) It works especially well on callused areas like feet, elbows or the palms of your hands.
* Fingernails can collect color like nuts, so start by removing dead skin around them with a cuticle clipper. For stained nail beds, soak them in some Polident (the denture stuff - I’m not kidding) and scrub the beds with a toothbrush afterward.
* Lemon juice is an excellent natural lightening treatment for thicker skin on elbows and knees, and works in over-bronzed situations for feet and hands too.
* Scrub your knees, elbows, feet and hands with some baking soda and water, making sure to get in between your fingers. If you don’t have any baking soda, try an exfoliating scrub; it does the same job.
* From now on, wash your hands thoroughly after every application of self-tanner.

For stains on your face and/or neck:
* My favorite surefire remedy for facial splotches: astringent. Rub an astringent or toner with salicylic acid (I use Biore Triple Action Astringent) over the stain with a cotton ball. Sounds simple, but it works wonders!
* Facial products with AHAs or BHAs like NeoStrata’s AHA Skin Solution are excellent for removing any kind of blotchiness. Apply before bed and you’ll see a drastic improvement the next morning.
* Exfoliate! Any exfoliating facial scrub or mask will help to slough off the dead skin that’s collected extra pigment. (Please stick to exfoliants specially formulated for your face, though — those meant for the body are usually too harsh.)
* If you have to leave the house before you can ditch the streaks, hide anything too grotesque-looking with bronzer. Blended properly, you’ll look naturally glowing without a hint of splotchiness.

If your whole bod is dark or streaky:
* Soak in the tub with some epsom salt or a mineral bath salt added to the water. This will soften your skin and help excess pigmentation break free as you wash.
* Splotchy legs? Try a fresh shave! Shaving your legs has a similar effect to exfoliating and will lift the hair up out of the follicle, helping to release any tanner trapped in there.
* Try a salt or sugar-based body scrub to remove the color. (Don’t worry if you come out looking a bit red afterward - that’ll fade quickly.) Top irritated skin with an unscented body lotion if you’re feeling a bit itchy.

Alternatively, you may use baking soda on your face as a scrub, but stay away from the delicate eye area.

Cherman, I know what you mean, as it's happened to me. You've put the self tanner on too long, and you look orange now, or it stays between your fingertips. You've got to remove it.

Blotchiness on your face:

The tan will diminish within 24 hours usually, yet sometime you have blotchiness on your skin.

To get rid of blotchiness, baking soda is your friend. Get damp in the shower, and massage dry baking soda onto your damp skin, rubbing in small, gentle circles. This will gently take off any dead skin that is ready to come off. Usually just one baking soda scrub will leave everything looking even and less orange.

Whatever you use, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, body hair bleach: there can be only one! Do not attempt to use multiple products to remove a sunless tanner from your skin, or your skin is going to get extremely irritated.

Fingernails and Toenails:

Try body hair bleach on stained toenails and cuticles.

Elbows and Knees

Try vigorously rubbing with a sisal scrubbing cloth. Be careful not to rub too much, as you are burning your skin if it turns red. Don't let it get to that point, so rub ever so gently.

Legs, arms, and torso:

Gently treat your body by coating it with baby oil. Then take a long bath after a half an hour you've waited. Exfoliate your body very gently with a cottom washcloth or exfoliating towel from the Body Shop.

Hope this helps, Cherman!

Hey this advice really worked for me ,
thanks but I must say that before using a sunless tanner one must know how does sunless tanner work see this http://sfcosmeticsurgery.com/blog/how-do-sunless-tanners-work/

This is a helpful answer. People suggesting things like baking soda, lemon juice, vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide all received helpful marks. When suggested something that might actually work I get rated unhelpful. For those that say it's not helpful I do protest.
