According to "mortify" at discussions.apple.com, you need to "Go to the terminal and type:defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling 10.0". Hope this solves your magic mouse problems. Happy New Year!!!

This works just fine.
Go to the terminal and type:
defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling 10.0
Where "10.0" is your requested mouse speed. This number works for me, but it likely a little fast. Don't type in 60.0... not that I'd do that.
You may need to log out (not restart) and log back in for it to take effect.
This stays put from login to login."
