How to get rid of echo when using double audio speed?

I am using QuickTime Pro audio player on 2X speed, and I am having difficulties understanding the speaker because there is a very distinctive echo in the playback. This creates mumbled speech that I can't understand. Any advice?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You will need to export the double-audio speeded up file to an audio editing program and edit out all of the echos manually.
