What format should I use to format my Laptop before I install Windows?

You do not need to format your laptop before installing Windows. When you boot up from the Windows disk you are given the option as to which drive to put Windows on and whether you want to format this drive or not. If you choose the default options Windows will automatically choose the NTFS format which is the standard.
