Rain has always had a calming effect on me. As a child I loved sitting in the rocking chair on our broad front porch. The soft sounds the raindrops make as they hit the pavement, a roof top or even a window pane just give me a good feeling. The sounds making comforting tones for sleeping on a cloudy day too. And as the rain begins to fade away, the lingering sound of the dripping from the eaves helps me to slow down and relax even more. I've sat on the back porch many times placing my feet just far enough out for the rain to drip off the eaves and splatter on my toes. Brings back good memories of my childhood days on Grandmama's front porch.
