How is the fastest and easiest ways to get rid of the common cold? Well, there are several steps to take to begin flushing the germs from your body that cause so many problems.
The first step to rid the body of this virus is the use of analgesics which can be found in Nyquil or Tylenol. Also you might want to rub Vicks or Mentholatum under the nose or on the chest to sooth a raspy chest and help the patient breathe a little better.
Secondly, the use of cough medicines and/or cough drops is crucial. Most cough medicines contain an antitussive and an expectorant which suppresses coughs and expels mucus.
Thirdly, a vaporizer is essential for helping a patient breathe better when mucus has “stopped up” the air ways to the lungs. Also steam inhalation helps with the common cold. It helps loosen mucus in the lungs as well as help the body “sweat out” the virus through the skin. This can be accomplished by either putting a towel above a pan of hot water and then breathing the vapors or using a hot sauna where steam from the water is in the air.
Fourthly, eating healthy foods and drinks is vital for full recovery of the common cold. Taking plenty of Vitamin C and Zinc is very helpful. Also using a supplement of Collodial Silver will aid to a speedier recovery as well. Garlic and Echinacea boosts the immune system to fight the virus. Eat as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible during this time.
The effects of the common cold can be shortened considerably and may even be eliminated if the above steps are followed.

Nice answer. I am only wondering how can you fight a virus with NyQuil or Tylenol? They are either an analgesic or a cough preparation. I think to treat a viral infection you need some antibiotic. Anyway, your answer is helpful.
