2. A tech forum from the manufacturer is definitely the fastest way to find tech information. Especially if they sub-divide the forums by model. You've got a 100% common trait in those forums.
At any other community (like here), you will not have 100% common connection with the community. You may not even have 50% who have the same carrier. Of those, 25% with the same brand. Of those, less than 10% with the same model.
Taking those completely made-up numbers, that's 1.25% of people who would even have the phone. Not many of them would have the correct key-sequence codes to perform a wipe.

M$When it comes to technical questions such as fixing a computer problem, or a phone question like you mentioned, there will always be other forums which focus on those topics and therefore will be a better resource.
