How should the world (or the U.S.) respond to the news that Iran has a secret nuclear fuel-enriching plant?

In all honesty, their assessment must be that the U.S. is very limited in its reaction capabilities. As other people have mentioned, for a myriad of reasons the U.S. military is stretched too thinly. The U.S. level of involvement would likely be to broker some sort of furthering of economic sanctions; but in all honesty, do you think that will have an impact?
The one ray of light in all of this is comes from a news release from this past July. Basically, it stated that Saudi Arabia would not interfere with Israeli jets flying over Saudi air space to attack Iranian nuclear installations. It is a quasi green light from the Saudis for Israel to launch air strikes to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities.
Many people fail to realize the threat often felt by the Saudis from Iran. These run deep, including ancient Arab-Farsi tensions, but in practical terms today, deal more with oil. The last thing Saudi Arabia wants is a nuclear armed Iran, able to wield more muscle in the profitable Persian Gulf region.
The likely scenario:
- The U.S. will continue with it barrage of platitudes.
- The U.N. will send envoys, inspectors, an entire wave of fact finding missions.
- Iran will continue.
- Countries like Russia will give verbal support to Iran, but nothing else.
- Venezuela's Chavez will rant and proclaim death to Yankee imperialism in support of his new friend Iran.
- Israel will execute a well coordinated air strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, missile installations and defense systems.
- World commentary will not be to kind to Israel, but they will not care, and I am certain, in the privacy of their own minds, neither will the Saudis.

M$Thanks, kris. That is certainly my gut instinct, as well. I saw that Iran is doing a little aw shucks, we weren't hiding anything routine - I don't think that is going to play too well.
I am interested to see what comes out about how this info came out when/how it did.
Also, you first mention that "we" should threaten/follow thru. Out of curiosity - assuming you meant the U.S. - why did you then seem to shift the attack responsibility to Israel?
I find it unlikely that Obama will follow through. Israel is the most threatened by Iran, seeing that their leader has stated numerous times that he wants to destroy Israel. If the US doesn't do anything, Israel may be forced to attack without of the support of our military.

I agree with you on just about every point, but out Air Force and Navy are not stretched very thin, so I think it wouldn't be too hard for the US to do air attacks.
