How should I start preparing for my GMAT test

1. Should I try doing self study with some of the references books available?
2. Should I take rigorous online mock test
3. First do research on what program suits me and then start preparing for GMAT
Tip for best answer: M$0.10
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

These are some helpful tips on how to prepare for GMAT:

1. Try to check to know the average score of admitted applicant to the schools you are planning to apply for.
2. Study months before the exam and set time every day to prepare for GMAT.
3. Make a plan for weeks and months. This will depend whether you will plan to have a self-study or take a course.
4. Try to see how much time you are going to need if ever you choose to attend a course or to study or both.
5. Take any practice test or diagnostic test so that you will have an idea of your current score range.
6. Decide on which you prefer to take a course or prepare on your own.
7. Research on the above options.
8. Practice, practice and practice. This will help improve your skills.
9. Decide when are you want or need to take the GMAt.
10. If you are confident and have progressed well in your preparation, this would be the best time to register.

Hey, I think you are a lil confuse and it'll just get hard on you....You must take only one book to study, it'll make your confusion less. You must take the online practice tests but try taking them from only one site coz too many choices just makes you confuse in life. The answer for your last question is that you must find a program that goes with your preparation, i can suggest you a site that has got all (www.examville.com) Practice tests, Study material, live classes on GMAT and much more, hope it helps you a bit.

hey! i work with www.examville.com, i help students in preparing for GMAT, SAT.... I have few important tips to share:
1. Buy a Good GMAT Prep Book
GMAT prep books will give you a better understanding of the test. Most prep books include GMAT study tips, information about test content, practice questions, and full-length practice tests. You will use the GMAT prep book that you purchased throughout the prep process. To start, flip through until you are familiar with the book and with all of the different sections that are included. Next, take one of the GMAT practice tests. Don’t be surprised if you don’t do well. And don’t panic. Now you know how much work you need to do.
2. If the evaluation that you completed in step three was not as positive as you would have liked, then it’s time to look into a GMAT prep course. There are many different GMAT prep courses that can be found. The most popular are the ones administered by either Kaplan or The Princeton Review. Of course, some of these GMAT courses can be very expensive- most will cost over $1,000. However, they will increase your score. Towards the end of the prep process, you should take at least one more GMAT practice test. This time, try to mimic the actual testing conditions— find a quiet place where you will not be interrupted and time yourself, allowing breaks only as they are allowed during testing time. Honestly evaluate your score. If you think you are prepared, take the actual GMAT. If you’re not ready- keep practicing. Preparation is the key to success.
