How should I have my daughter wear her hair to a tumbling class?

My daughter starts tumbling in a couple days and I can not seem to reach the instructor. We were wondering if it is best to wear the hair down or up? It seems like her hair will get in the way if it is down, but If I put her hair up I am afraid it will be hard to do somersaults or handstands. What is the best way to wear the hair for a gymnastics or tumbling class?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

My daughter is in dance now, but she used to be in gymnastics. The instructor's did want their hair out of their face. We found that wearing the hair pulled back, but down or lower, was the best. I would often do two french braids. This kept the hair out of the face yet not in a place that would be uncomfortable if she did a trick on her head. If you do not know how to do a french braid, try to low regular braids or ponytails.

Once the kids get older you can pull the hair back into high ponytails. The somersaults would be more for the younger or beginners. The main thing is you want her to be able to see, so she stays safe. If you can not get a hold of the teacher prior to the first class, do not sweat it. Try what I suggested, and you can check out how everyone else is wearing their hair at the first class.
