Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

USA has but a small number of cities that can appropriately be named old and Detroit is one of these.

The city of Detroit grew from a French fort as well as missionary settlement established in 1701 by Frenchman Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, who was looking to set up an essential trade post, to one of the major cities of the United States in the early 20th century. The city's name originates from the Detroit River, which is a 32-mile long strait in the Great Lakes system.

The city had developed gradually from the 1830s with the upsurge of shipping, shipbuilding as well as manufacturing industries. Nowadays, Detroit is the leading city in the US state of Michigan and is generally well-known as the world's traditional automotive center.
