How often should I stretch?
Is stretching before and after exercise necessary? Can I hurt myself if I stretch without warming up first?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Stretching is a good thing. But doing it before you exercise does not guarantee reduction of injury risk. On the other hand, stretching increases flexibility. But a warm-up rather than stretching would be the best way to avoid injury. So it is not advisable to stretch before you exercise because it will just be a waste of time.
Stretching after exercise routine prevents muscle-joint stiffness and soreness. Stretching as you wake up in the morning is also a good start of the day.
Going to stretch therapist would be a very informative activity in case of anxiousness about bone defects such as arthritis, tendinitis and osteoporosis. Stiffness of joints especially in the morning could be helped by proper stretching to be more flexible for the whole day’s activities. Please refer to:
