How often is it suggested that one should walk their dog?
I was wondering how often experts say you should walk your dog? We have 4 English Bulldogs and try to give them all walks but I wonder if we are walking them enough. Does it depend on the breed, the size or your particular dog and if he or she is more active or not? Or is it suggested that you walk dogs in general a minimum of blank hours per week? Thanks in advance!http://www.flickr.com/photos/cknlomein/3066416487/

I think it depends on the age and breed of the dog. Some dogs like my beagle and my dachshund mixes can go on forever because they are long legged and fit. Other dogs like my purebred dachshund are short legged and get tired pretty easy but she likes to go places where she can go through undergrowth and investigate new things. I know from my experience with dogs that some of them find certain walks boring, and they all like to find the scents of other dogs to investigate. So, I try to mix it up and not take the same route all the time. Sometimes I even take them out to the nearby lake so they have new scents to investigate. I think the quality of the walk is better than the quantity.
