How often does Identity Theft Insurance come in handy?
Identity theft isn't something I think about every day, but it's something maybe I should consider more than I do. I came across some differing thoughts and opinions on insurance for ID theft and was wondering where most people stood on the matter.
David Simons from Forbes.com seems to believe that ID theft insurance isn't actually "real" insurance. He explains that there's very low risk of such an event taking place that it's not worth it to insure ones self against it. Where do you stand on this? Can you tell me whether or not identity theft insurance is really worthwhile? What makes it useful or useless? Can you find any statistics or proof for either side?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
