How often do you have to pull weeds when gardening?

Do you have to constantly keep weeding your garden if you have a weed problem? Can you do this every other day or once a week?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00

How often you have to pull weeds when gardening depends on how much rain your garden gets. If it rains once every two weeks, you need to pull weeds every two weeks.

If you have a weed problem in your vegetable or flower garden, you won’t have to pull weeds as often if you use a weed preventer product. Miracle Grow makes an excellent one that also contains a fertilizer to encourage the growth of the desirable plants in your garden. Preen products are also wonderful fertilizers/weed preventers. Weed preventer products won’t prevent the growth of all weeds (Canadian thistles are resistant to them) but will inhibit most weeds from growing. Apply your weed preventer before you plant your garden and after your plants have grown to a height of at least two inches, being careful not to get any on the leaves of your desirable plants.

Pulling weeds once a week should be often enough to keep your weeds from getting big and hard to pull out. You shouldn’t normally need to pull weeds out as often as every other day. How often you will need to pull weeds will vary depending on how much rain your garden gets and whether or not you use weed preventer in it.

All weeds spread by seeds….In open areas, such as flower or vegetable gardens, spreading a pre-emergent herbicide helps.
