According to mckinley.illinois.edu, Birth Control Injections are effective when it is received every 12-13 weeks.

I believe it is about once every 3-6 months but if you are considering this as a birth control solution please do your research. There has been some known issues and it's best to get all the facts first. There is always a downside to any birth control formulation.
