How much would you estimate a gallon of gas to cost if you factor in all externals, such as the cost the military to protect supplies,

environmental pollution of water and air, climate warming, habitat restoration, effects on human health, highway system construction and subsidies, etc. How do you calculate this? Using this oil is a one time deal. Once it is gone, it is gone, and what will it be replaced with? There is no liquid fuel that compares in terms of energy density, convenience, utility.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
