@hillston_heights,

On September 25th, 2010 Tom Brady finalized his contract extensions with the New England Patriots. The deal is a blockbuster $72 million four-year extension that affects his 2010 salary, as well. Instead of making an original $3.5 million dollars, Brady is now making $7.5 million dollars for the 2010 season. In the 2011 and 2012 seasons, his salary will drop down to $5.75 million dollars. In his last two contract years (2013 and 2014), his salary will increase to $9.75 million.

His salary includes all sorts of bonuses. If he is on the Patriots roster in the years 2012-2014, he will receive $4 million per year. There is also a workout bonus: if he works out a certain amount, he is guaranteed an extra $250,000 per year.

After all is said and done, Tom Brady is guaranteed $48.5 million dollars.

In terms of his contract, he was given a signing bonus of $16 million dollars.
