You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Singapor is surrounded by rubber producers, and so does as much rubber business as makes sense for their geography and what they do.

They don't build cars, so it makes more sense for rubber makers to ship huge amounts of rubber for tires and belts to countries that build cars, but Singapore does have some some interesting rubber-sectors as a function of what they do and who they are.

It is a business center, so there are *lots* of shops specializing in production of rubber stamps.

Busisiness also means, they make lots of rubber bands, and pencil erasers.

There is a reasonable enough amount of manufacture of small rubber items for the endles contruction that happens there, like rubber washers for plumbing seals, but, all that construction means lots of important workers from Borneo to do the grunt work, which means... lots of rubber condoms.

Although nobody would complain if asked by a foriegn buyer to ship, it looks like the bulk of Singapore rubber-item production is for local consumption.

The top three rubber producing countries in order are Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. Singapore used to be a part of Malaysia until it gained independence in 1965. Now, Singapore has little involvement in the production of rubber, but rather it gains its position in the rubber industry by being a re-exporter of rubber that it gets from Malaysia. Malaysia produces about 1-5 million tons of natural rubber annually, a major part of which is sent to Singapore from where it is exported all over the world
