The Apple Digital AV Adapter sells for $39 and you need to provide your own HDMI cable. This is just one of the new accessories for iPad that was recently announced. Using this adapter you will be able to see on the screen of your HDTV what is on the iPad's screen.
Apple describes this as video mirroring where it is possible to share what is on your iPad with an even bigger screen and bigger audience. This is great for movies, photos, presentations and lessons.
