How much does TechCrunch and Mike Arrington hate Jason Calacanis?

There is no way that the TechCrunch 50 split was a mutual decision. Just read Jason's comment on a recent TechCrunch article.

agree... the bias is stunning! We screw jason out of the TechCrunch50 partnership and we slam him every two or three days.
the funny thing is everyone knows TechCrunch is just on a jihad to make me look bad.

Why is there so much bad blood between the two? I know Jason is definitely more candid and visible with the broken relationships between the two parties but it seems nothing is coming from Arrington himself. Is Arrington just using his TC staff and writers to knock the image of Calacanis? Is it even working?

Would love to hear from individuals who understand the Tech Community and even Jason himself.

Here is a link to a recent TC article about Calacanis playing on the PokerStars Big Game:

Roam through the comments and I am sure you will find some interesting tidbits.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Check this out . . .
"To be fair, Brunson is one of the best players in the world, and Calacanis squeezed out at least one moment of glory in another hand. He won’t tell me how he did overall, but notes that a “Mahalo logo on TV for 5 nights” and a sponsorship he finagled “means I’m protected on the downside.” "

Hmm . . . perhaps the headline shoule read: "Savy buisnessman makes the ultimate safe bet." I don't know about the sponsorship but the TV airtime is worth at least what he lost.

. . . The whole thing feels a bit tabloid for a tech site to cover this bet.

I don't think they get along well at all from what i have read and there seems to be alot of bad press on Jason alcorss the internet but honestly I dont know the guy I never talked or chatted with him So i have nothing against him . There are alot of politic in Business and its just the nature of it. I think people should form there own and not belive everything they read.

Anti-Jason stories on TC for the sake of anti-Jason stories have no long term benefit for TC--that's what they all say. The reality is that people's memories are short and in one month, no one will remember that TechCrunch went through a Jason hissyfit phase. All attacking Jason does is help him. So, if Michael Arrington's goal is to get more people to sign up to Jason's newsletter list by attacking a newsletter article he wrote, good job. He'll add a few more subscribers.

So, now they're both doing their own conferences instead of the TC50. John Lennon and Paul M. both had good albums as individuals...good, but not GREAT, and certainly not as good any Beatles album. So, for fuck's sake, put your differences aside and reunite Jason and Mike.
