Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi @culverc! The tuition fee or cost of attending a beauty or cosmetology school depends on the beauty school and where it is located.
For beauty schools that are within or close to major metropolitan cities like New York or Boston it will likely cost around $10,000 for full comprehensive programs.

The same program in rural areas could be as low as $6,500.00. If you are planning to complete a specific program to become a certified esthetician or licensed nail technician, beauty schools will be less expensive and cost you around $3000 to $5000. This will depend on the location and program of the school.

However, you have an option since accredited cosmetology schools offer financial aid like grants and scholarships and loans and payment plans. Other non-accredited schools are even offering grants and scholarships to those who will qualify.

These are some financial aid options for beauty school :
* Federal Pell Grant
*Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
*Federal Work-Study
*Federal Perkins Loan

Several educations grants are available, these are:
*ACE Grant
*Sports Clip Scholarship
*NCEA Scholarship
*OPI scholarships
*Massage Magazine Scholarship Program

The cost of going to beauty schools depend on your location, @culverc. So that if you are from the US, in New York or Boston for example, it would likely cost you around $10,000 for full and comprehensive cosmetology programs while if you’d get the same program in a rural area, it would only cost lesser like $6,500. However, if you are only looking for a more specific program like those nail technician, hairdresser, makeup artist and what not, they would even cost lesser (each). If you are here in the Philippines, you can train for free with TESDA and you’re even paid daily allowances. So in the US, there are also grants provided by the government. You can make use of federal student aid, financial aid provided by your chosen cosmetology school and private scholarship and grants.

If you are planning a full time career as a beautician], a complete curriculum in should be undertaken, which will entail you at least $10,000 if you are residing in a major city, whereas if you want to enjoy substantial savings, it is advisable you undergo such program in a small town, usually the rate is around $6,000. Another alternative for you would be to take a certificate on nail nechnician or licensed esthetician, which would only require on your end to shell out at least $3,000.

In order to afford your way to go to beauty school is to avail of their financial aid or student loans, however, you must verify first hand whether, the cosmetology school you are planning is duly licensed and accredited by National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. (NACCAS)

Furthermore, their are also student grants available such as Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Federal Work-Study and Federal Perkins Loan.
