According to Forbes Magazine, that position is held by Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, which costs students $57,556 for tuition, fees, room and board. Three small liberal arts colleges in the Northeast also make the list of most expensive schools. They are Bard College ($54,275), located in New York's Hudson Valley; Trinity College ($53,380) in Hartford, Conn.; and Maine's Bates College ($53,300).
