How much coleslaw should be made for 100 people?
I have to make coleslaw for a dinner with about 100 guest. How much should I make? 1 gallon, 2... 5? I have no idea! If you have any idea about how much cabbage it would be, that would be great as well.

I found a recipe for 100 people, but it doesn't say that it makes (blank) number of gallons.
The recipe itself looks basic enough, so you're not going to have some weird tasting coleslaw.

I would just get one of those industrial size bowls / tobaggans that we used to use when we were kids, and get busy with this recipe... that way you'll have plenty of mixing room! You'll need:
6 heads of cabbage
5 cups shredded carrots
1 head of purple cabbage
(rest of recipe is in the link)
When you think about it, coleslaw is really like an accent to food, not in the same amount as a side salad. I would grab one of those half circle ice cream scoops and use that as a serving spoon. That should leave plenty of extra for seconds.
*if you don't like the first recipe, I found another that deals specifically in weight here, but the amounts seem much bigger than the first recipe. http://lotsofinfo.tripod.com/H36coleslaw.htm
