How many strings are on a guitar?
Are there different numbers of strings for the various kinds of guitars or do they all have the same number? Which guitars have more than 6 strings? Do you need to tighten them with every use?

Different types of guitars have different strings. A standard bass guitar has four. A regular electric or acoustic guitar has six strings. Twelve-string guitars are also common; this is what bands like the Byrds played. Twelve-strings sound more jangly than a standard six-string. I don't tighten the strings with every use; it's not necessary.
