According to Ticotimes.ne there are likely more than 450... they have a guide to restaurants that lists "nearly 450" so I'd say easily more than 450 in all of costa rica

...off course www.ticotime.ne is referring to "certain" restaurants. Just imagine a country (any country) with millions of citizens... and just 450 restaurants for the whole nation? Come onnnn.....!!
It’s obvious that there must be hundreds if not thousands of restaurants in Costa Rica; remember... it’s a tourist destination. In fact, it is Central America most visited country and an environmentally oriented nation that everybody wants to visit. Restaurants are a must there. No question about it.
