How many podcasts are in Apple iTunes?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$Going through iTunes using the Browse function. Opening all categories picking "All" in Subcategory and then counting the results from all categories.
2 249 + 2 154 + 2 074 + 2 107 + 2 212 + 2 155 + 2 325 + 2 188 + 2 156 + 1 543 + 2 284 + 2 327 + 2 230 + 2 365 + 2 215 + 2 205 = 34 789

Tibidado,
Seems close, but I once heard 50,000 a few years ago. I'll use this if we can't gather something more concrete.
I guess i understood the question differently :) I though Podcast as in "show" and not counting every single episode. In that case 125,000 would of course seem much more likely.
Rocknrolla,
That's much better. Thanks! URL is a good source, and Apple provides the number. I'm going to hang tight for a bit in the event someone can dig up a 2008 number.
Glad i could help. Thanks for the tip!
Let me know if there is anything else i can help you with.
