The hockey Hall of Fame is located in Toronto, Canada and as of 2010 there were 247 players elected. The first year of induction was 1945 and the first players elected were Donald H. Bain, Hobart Amery Hare Baker, Russell Bowie, Charles Robert Gardiner, Edward George Gerard, Francis McGee, Howard William Morenz, Thomas N. Phillips, Harvey Pulford, Arthur Howie Ross and William H. Stuart. The most recent inductees were Dino Ciccarelli and Cammi Granato who played for the United States Women Olympic Hockey Team.

The most players elected in one year was 27 in 1962. The fewest number of players elected in a year is 1, in 1968 and 1999. Only 35 goaltenders have been elected into the Hall of Fame, the fewest among all positions. More defensemen (76) have been elected than any other position. There have been 224 players born in Canada in the Hall of Fame, 11 from Europe and 9 from the United States.

The NHL Hockey Hall of fame is in Toronto and features a pretty extensive museum of game used items and all of the major trophys. 238 players have been inducted into the HHOF.
