How many people will attend the Inauguration celebrations?

I have read anything from 2.5 million to 5 million. Which source should I believe?
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I won't, but capacity only really dictates that around 500,000 will make it successfully. I'll watch on TV, unless you've got a spare room that is.

Well, they are planning for a crowd of 1 million

However, the record for an inauguration was set in 1965 at 1.2 million people came for events for Lyndon B. Johnson.

So, I would say maybe 2 million. I don't think that there will be enough parking, buses, hotels, etc. for more to make it there. It is D.C. in January. Any one from a warmer climate will freeze before they make it.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that 2.5 to 3 million people will be at the celebrations, which sounds like a fair guess to me.
