Giving pets for Christmas is definitely popular. Many people will have their friends or family hold onto the pet until late Christmas Eve. Keep the pet in a room the kids (or girlfriend or boyfriend or husband or wife, etc etc!) won’t go in, even if they wake up. Or, if it’s a quieter animal (one year my mom gave me a turtle), then you can keep the animal in your room. Sneak away during the chaos that is present opening and put your pet in a pre-wrapped box with a removable top (don’t forget the air holes!). Then present your present.
This act is so popular that it is in many movies, television shows, or you may even know someone who has done it. It is a really great surprise, and I highly recommend doing it once in your life for someone special.
