How many people (civilians + soldiers) were killed during World War II by the japanese army?

This would include all the Chinese killed during the Second Sino-Japanese War that merged into WWII:

In contrast: 2.7mio Japanese were killed
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

That's a serious research question. Here's a start at least.

I don't know about the numbers for the army only, but including all branches, Wikipedia says the Second Sino-Japanese War was at least at least 20 million Chinese.
