How many parts are there in a typical animal cell?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Actually, there are hundreds of 'parts' within each animal cell, each with its own specific function. Not to get overly technical, but at the cellular level a single molecule can be considered its own 'part.'

However, there are eighteen general structures, which you can see in this interactive cell model: http://www.cellsalive.com/cells/cell_model.htm
I suggest reading their descriptions to better understand their functions.
