how many ounces in a standard martini?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Very few people would be happy with the martini you served them if it came with the standard measurements of;
~ 2.5 ounces of Vodka or Gin (some recipes are as little as 1.5oz or 1oz for legal purposes)
~ 0.5 ounces or Dry Vermouth
The above recipe would be a legal serving of alcohol in most of the United States but I will have to stress that if a bartender was to make Martinis this small (most Martini glasses are 6 oz or larger) that bartender would not have many regular guests that wanted to have their Martinis.
In my experience to make the guest happy the first Martini was for function more than fashion and should be poured as tall as the bartender feels they can get away with (3.5oz to 4.0oz) to ease the mind and palette of the guest after that a more sensible recipe like the one listed above can be made with greater confidence.
