How many nicknames do you have?

And what are some (or all) of them? I have been called Princess (my granddaddy gave this one to me because I was always very feminine), Yogi (my stepdad gave me this one because my little sister and I were always together), BitBit (a younger cousin when he was 2 years old), Queen of the table Saw, (my art instructor and classmates), and smiley (coworkers). From time to time people have given me other nicknames but none that stuck like the ones I previously mentioned.

I always joke that I am like the Devil...I go by many names.

In high school, I was nicknamed, "Lars X." My first name is Larry, and someone thought that it would be funny to start calling me Lars, which is German for Larry (since I am partially German). The, "X," came about since in the early 90s, X was supposed to be cool. It was my least favorite nickname.

When I got into college, I got the nickname, "Psycho," from my fraternity brothers. At the time, I looked like a young Anthony Perkins, so they thought the name fit. Plus, I was hyper, so they thought that it was fitting in that way as well.

People have called me, "The Geek," for a long time. This was started years ago by my Dad. He considered me the geekiest of his five kids since I was into comic books, Dungeons & Dragons, horror movies, and video games as a kid.

Another name that I have had for years is, "The Pope." This comes from the way that my Dad pronounces our last name (with a long O) Add in the fact taht I was very religious when I was young, and I guess that it made sense.

My wife calls me, "Muffin," as a pet name. To this day, I still do not know how that started. I really do not even like muffins.

Finally, my neighbors call me, "Sweden." This comes from the fact that I stay neutral on every argument in the neighborhood. No matter who is argueing with who, I stay out of it, and stay nice to everyone.

Thanks, Bunnyphuphu! Happy New Year to you as well!

I forgot that I have also been called Scary Larry from time to time due to the fact that I love horror movies so much.

I have only one -- Ramkitten -- but there are a few variations I answer to, including Ramkitty, Ram and just plain Kitty. It was my Appalachian Trail "trail name" and it continued on and spread after I finished my thru-hike.

Ramkitten actually started out it as an internet screen name. See, when my husband and I became the caretakers of RamCat Farm in Pennsylvania, we didn't have our own computer. The property owner gave us permission to play with his and use his internet account, so I started checking out the chat rooms and doing some e-mailing. Follow so far? Okay, well, my boss's screenname was RamCat with a number tacked on; although he never used the account. So people came to recognize that screenname as being me, you see. Then, when I eventually got a computer and an internet account of my own, I wanted a screenname similar to the one I'd been using for more than a year. Plain old RamCat was taken, as was RamCat with every number I tried, so I decided to go with Ramkitten. And then I began participating in the online Appalachian Trail forums in anticipation of my upcoming thru-hike. People in the online trail community and at subsequent A.T. gatherings came to know me as Ramkitten. The name stuck like cat fuzz on fleece, then accompanied me for more than 2,000 miles.

And what IS a Ramkitten, you ask?

The ramkitten (Felis hornicus) is even rarer than the jackalope. Once thought to be the result of a conjugal union between a hard-headed, hot-blooded ram and a curious and playful, underage cat, the ramkitten is actually a unique species unto itself. This creature is well adapted to many habitats and has been spotted in the tropics, the alpine tundra, the desert, deciduous forest, and Rhode Island. Often on the move, the ramkitten is difficult to locate, but can sometimes be enticed with its favorite foods, which include sushi, french fries, and frozen yogurt.

Oh my gosh, I have a lot of names too. Pastor of course because I am a Pastor. My husband calls me Kayte and Honey as well as professional aquaintances. My dad calls me Sweetie, Pumpkin, and Kathy (which I hate to be called), some of my high school friends call me Kitty, Kayla, Cookie (my affinity to Cookies) and my uncle calls me Chocolet Chip (another cookie reference). My aunt calls me Kitty Kat and my little brothers call me Fat Kat (even when I weighed 70 pounds soak and wet with all my clothes on), My children call me Mom, Mommacita, O Mom O, Mommalotta, Momopolis and my grand children call me Nana and Big Mama. Take your pick I am any one of these people, but I prefer Pastor Kayte

All my nicknames were deleted by Mahalo. Here I thought folks were giving me cute nicknames, but they all turned out to be curse words!
