I think the movie you have watched is ' Mortal Kombat ' which was a 1995 action film directed by Paul W. S. Anderson starring Robin Shou as Liu Kang, Linden Ashby as Johnny Cage, Bridgette Wilson as Sonya Blade and Christopher Lambert as Raiden.
I have watched this movie and it is really great .. I love Mortal Kombat franchise so much that it was once my most favourite video game ( Mortal Kombat 4 ) ... then I played Mortal kombat Deception, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks and Mortal Kombat Armageddon .....
A sequel to the previous movie, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, was released in 1997 which was directed by John R. Leonetti.
