How many Mahaloians are aware of the escalating dangers of attempting to become a vampire?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

My guess is no, they haven't heard of this potentially life threatening situation, and my guess would also be they wouldn't believe you (or care) if you told them. Remember, teenagers think they're bullet-proof, are always *always* right, and will never die or get old (and that's without the addition of vampirism!)
There's more to it than just this disturbing story you've brought to us; drinking someone else's blood in any capacity is just plain old BAD for you. Hepatitis A & B, HIV or any number of diseases are carried thru the bloodstream, and my guess is these folks are not exactly the best at checking medical records prior to participating. Additionally, it's important to keep in mind that the human mouth is disgusting and teeming with bacteria and microorganisms, and a bite could cause a serious infection extremely quickly.
Oh, these wacky kids these days!

M$When Lord Jesus, Buddha, Mahavira, Ram and other Gods and Goddesses look down to see what is happening down here, what might they be thinking about us? Thousands of years of teaching and what is the end-result? Vampire! Holy humans! They want to become a Vampire!
I also even think that what the real vampires might be thinking (if there are some). "oh! our jobs now are not secured. Humans are a threat to our bread and butter."
I hope better thinking should prevail and these vampire-loving crazy people use their intellect and perceive life and its beauty in a better way.
Amen!

M$I was first attracted to the article because of the health risk it poses. But I remembered seeing all the vampire questions on Mahalo and wondered if posting the article would put a bit of fear into these kids who are participating in the "vampire suction" acts. It's such a shame that some of these kids may end up with a weakened blood vessel/ arteries that could lead to strokes or aneurysms.
Hahaha!!! I remember all the Justin B questions AND the vampire questions!
Ah, to be young and clueless again...
Loved your answer!!

I agree with you. Oddly enough though it isn't just teens who are into the vampire craze. There are people ranging from teens to forties who are practicing this sucking activity. And I also believe that adults who become infatuated about such crazes are just as unlikely to heed the warnings as the younger crowds.
