How many listeners does Howard Stern get for his radio?
Is his show popular?

Howard Stern's popularity has gone up and down over the entirety of his tenure on air.
His jump from commercial radio to Sirius Radio, however, has obviously affected how many people are listening in on his show. When he was on the commercial air-waves, anybody with a radio could listen. Now, only people with satellite radio and are Sirius subscribers can listen in.
An article published back in 2006 (linked at the bottom for reference) does a numbers breakdown that averages his listener numbers to about 5 million. More recently, his numbers have reportedly jumped to 10 million, though it is something of a non-disclosed fact.
In any case, while he and his show are still popular, his fanbase seems to be waning slowly. Signs seem to point toward a retirement within the next decade.
