I speak 2, English and Spanish. I learned Spanish using Rosetta Stone, which is great but you need a lot of discipline to finish it.

I speak English, and a few key words and phrases in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. I hope to learn all of these fluently.

How about you?

Just for fun, you may like this http://www.freerice.com/ it defaults to English vocabulary, but you can change the language in the "Change Subjects" spot. I am using it to brush up on my Spanish. You can donate to charity while learning, and it is free.

English is my first language but I was at one time fluent in Japanese (Nihon-go) as well. Lack of opportunity to use it has caused me to be really rusty.

I was born and raised in Southern Ontario, there we speak English, but my parents put me in French Immersion meaning my whole elementary and half of my high school was all french with only short English classes.

The end result, I am bilingual in butchering two languages

I speak English, Spanish and I am learning Italian. I love to hear other languages, it's like music to my ears. I usually do pretty good in picking up survival skills first. I am fluent In both English and Spanish. I hope to be in Italian in the new future. I understand a little bit of Catalan which is a language spoken in Barcelona Spain, and some Portuguese.

I speak two, English and French. English is my native language, and I majored in French in college. I did very well with it, learning to speak at a near native level of fluency and pronunciation.

Four languages

Tamil (India) - because it is my mother tongue

Telugu(India) - because it is the official language of the state where I was born and grew up.

Hindi (India) - because it is the official language of India

English (India) - because my entire education was in English medium.

Finnish, native tongue.
English, Swedish and Spanish come next.
Italian, French and German, I can still manage those quite well.
Thai, Greek, Portuguese, Norwegian and Arabic; A smattering but no-one can sell me without me knowing it! And I never go hungry or lack toilet facilities in these languages, either.

I think everyone here knows some Spanish. I speak English of course and Spanish. I'm learning French. it's not going that well but i can make out some words. And since Italian is almost like Spanish I can understand it, at least the main points. Portuguese is also easy to understand.

How many do you speak?

I speak English. I can read in Spanish, but most of the time I have no idea what I'm reading; I just know the phonetics and pronunciations and whatnot.
Also... does Pig Latin count as a foreign language?

Fluently? One...just English. My intermediate Spanish is rusty from lack of practice. My Somali is coming along nicely-- my vocabulary is extensive, I just need practice with grammar and listening skills. And I try to learn at least a few phrases in any other language that I encounter (Amharic--Ethiopia, Lao, Twi--Ghana, Bahasa Indonesian, Tigrinya--Eritrea.)

The fact that you only speak English is fine-- it's your right. However, your declaration that it's because you live in America is a terrible reason.
