There are several categories of science. First there is the life sciences, which consist of Biology or the study of living things. This category further divided can be broken down into the health and medical sciences , environmental science, and ecology. Ecology is the study of the natural world and living things in their habitat. The second category of science is the physical world. This subcategory consists of Physics and Mathematical physics. The third category of science is Chemistry, which can be broken down again into Organic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry. Mathematics is not directly considered a pure science, but has it own category. That is why it is called the math and sciences as math is merely a tool, not the study of life and living things and their interaction within the universe.
