Surprisingly, when typing in the term “exotic pet shop” in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Yellow Pages only one result was returned. An exotic pet shop called Exotic by Reps was that one result. This business is located at 8223 Mosquero Avenue NE Albuquerque. You can phone the shop for their hours of operation by dialing (505) 489 – 5445.
However, it seems that most pet shops are not listed as having exotic animals, but rather as a general pet store. Once looking at their site, it is clear that they do certainly offer certain types of exotic pets. Seventy-Six total pet shops are registered with the Yellow Pages in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

New Mexico has laws that restrict the ownership of certain exotic pets. Primates or monkeys are not legal pets within the state. If you find a primate breeder, please report them to the state’s Fish and Wildlife Department. When animal breeders illegally breed animals the conditions in which the animals live are almost always appalling and anything but a happy existence for the animals being kept there.
You should never obtain a primate or other exotic animal illegally. You should also never have a pet in a state where it is considered illegal. Even if your exotic pet has been treated well, properly trained and is not dangerous in the least it can be confiscated by authorities when they learn of its existence. This would be traumatizing for both you and your pet.

Poison Dart Frogs are legal readily available in nearly every pet shop you find other amphibians. While it is true that fed the appropriate diet they are deadly (one is deadly enough to kill 100 humans), a Poison Dart Frog's diet is changed once captive. Offspring do not eat the things needed for the poison to be produced and therefore, these so-called dangerous creatures are harmless when found in pet stores.
