How many different variations are there of Eric Clapton's 1st solo album on vinyl? I know of at least 3.
I know that in 2006, a reissue of Clapton’s 1st solo album was re-released with the “Delaney Bramlett Mix” included. I recently purchased a vinyl copy however that is NOT the same mix as either on the re-release. It contains talking between songs and other oddities. In Clapton’s autobio he refers to the idea that he also did a mix along with Bramlett’s and Tom Dowd’s (The official release). But my album LOOKS identical in terms of the cover. Could Clapton’s mix have been issued in limited quantity? Why would they do that?
Is there some coding differences? Outer-groove specifics? Something that would allow an observer to know the differences without having to play it? How could possibly 3 different mixes of the same album be released without any real cover variations? I also have a CD variation that claims to be the Bramlett mix, but is the odd (Clapton’s?) mix that I stated above. It is NOT the Bramlett mix represented in the CD re-issue (even though the CD cover claims that it is).

Yes, the "Unsurpassed Eric Clapton" bootleg is in fact the Clapton mix of the 1st LP. And while I've never heard the particular LP you speak of, I've heard *of* it, and it should in fact be the EC mix. I believe it was simply issued by mistake. Somebody sent the wrong tapes, which then got mastered and pressed.
The Delaney mix was never issued on LP to my knowledge.
The EC mix was prepared for the Deluxe Edition but was excluded due to the additional cost.
