How many different types of algebra are there?
Are some different types more difficult than others?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi @mblamar!
Algebra is grouped into 7 categories. These are:
1. Elementary algebra in which the properties of operation on the real number system are recorded using symbols to denote constant and variables. This is taught at school under the title algebra or intermediate algebra.
2.Abstract algebra in which algebraic structures such as groups, rings and fields are axiomatically defined. This is also called modern algebra.
3. Linear algebra is a type where specific properties of vector space including matrices are studied.
4. Universal algebra in which proper that are common to all algebraic structures are being studied.
5. In Algebraic number theory, the properties of numbers are studied through algebraic systems. It is inspired much by number theory.
6. Algebraic geometry is applied to all the problems of geometry
7. Algebraic combinatorics in which algebraic methods are used to study combinatorial questions.
