Hey tinews
According to the website libraryspot.com there are at least 160 countries that celebrate Christmas. Some countries, such as Angola and Uruguay, refer to it as “Family Day”. In other countries, like Jordan and Pakistan, December 25th is an official holiday only for Christians. Some of the traditions (that differ from those in the United States) include the use of fireworks and dancing, as in Argentina, or a parade, as in Nicaragua. In Finland, the Christmas tree is set up on Christmas Eve, the main dish of the Christmas dinner is boiled codfish, and a part of the tradition is a trip to the cemetery to honor the dead. Lest this seem odd, it’s also a common custom in China as the honoring of ancestors is a big deal.
Here are some websites that can give you details about the various Christmas traditions around the world.
