How many companies are producing dual monitor laptops at this point in time? Which one is the best to buy?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Kohjinsha DZ-series with 10.1-inch TFT displays with 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution
Onkyo's DX with pair of 10.1-inch 1,366 × 768 pixel LCD displays
gScreen with dual 15.4 inch screen
Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds 17 inch screen with retractable 10.6 screen
For use as a laptop (e.g., on the road a lot) the Onkyo Dx. If I just want portability (occasional moving around) then I'd go with the gScreen. But unless I really wanted to carry dual screens around, I'd go with a laptop and docking station using an external monitor.

"The upgraded ThinkPad W700ds, though, should draw a lot of attention because of its 17-inch main display and its 10.5-inch secondary display. Lenovo has also provided a more affordable quad processor and increased the maximum amount of RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB. During the pre-briefing, Ninis Samuel, Lenovo's director of marketing, drew an analogy between the second screen and the side rearview mirror on a car. The smaller screen "kind of sits at a 30-degree angle," according to Samuel."
