How many authors does it take to ruin a story? Do collaborations work? Examples?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I dont think there is a golden rule. A single author can write a bad book, however single authors can also write incredible books (Ascent of Money by Niall Ferguson). The same goes for collaborations, the can be great or doomed. A good example is Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. If you're looking for fiction then Daughter of the Empire by Raymond Feist and Janny Wurts is a way to go. Another excellent collaboration is The Chronicles of the Shadow War by George Lucas and Chris Claremont.
